Vikram Bhatt

Remember when John Abraham and Bipasha Basu were one of the hottest couples in Bollywood and all the filmmakers were cashing in on their popularity and chemistry? Good, old days, weren’t they? Today, the two are both happily married to other people and looks like they’ve chosen to ignore the history they once shared. Bipasha even went on to say that you can be friends with your ex unless he’s an asshole. Anyway, the two were successful models before they made their debuts and were then considered to be two of the most promising faces.

Vikram Bhatt, who directed Bipasha in her breakthrough film Raaz, was also instrumental in getting John Abraham his big break with Jism, feels the ex couple don’t credit their careers to him. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Vikram opened up,

I don’t think they should be grateful. I am still in touch with Bipasha (who I worked with in the hit Raaz, 2002). I had signed John first for Aetbaar (2004), but it got stuck and instead Jism (2003) became his debut film. I don’t think they credit me for their careers, but I didn’t do it as a favour to them in the first place. I needed talented actors for my films, and I saw potential in them. They, in turn, needed a platform. I didn’t do them a favour by casting them.

Hmm. We can’t think of anybody else who could’ve played those characters. Do you think this will make them pick up the phone and call Vikram? 🙂
