Like most industries in our country, Bollywood is also a male-dominated industry. Time and again, several actresses have spoken up about being underpaid as compared to their male colleagues. From roles to money – the larger chunk usually goes to the heroes. But thankfully, things are changing now. Slowly but surely, the women of Indian cinema have also started getting their dues.
In fact, recent reports suggest that Deepika Padukone is getting a heftier fee as compared to her co-stars, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, for Padmavati. Meanwhile, some claim that it’s Ranveer who’s getting the maximum moolah for this one.
When asked about this at the 3D trailer launch of Padmavati today, DP said:
Talking about my remuneration isn’t exciting. But I am proud and confident about the money I get. But what makes me happy is that they have invested so much money in a film which has a poster featuring me on it. That makes me proud. This is the beginning of great things woman have in films.
