Sonam Kapoor out her shock at some comments made by spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at JNU on homosexuality. As per an article on Scroll.in, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was answering a question made by a student, who asked him how he could handle the way his friends and family treated him for his sexual orientation. As per a report in the Indian Express, here’s how Ravi Shankar answered this query –

You don’t think you are sick or something is wrong with you,” he said. “If you stand up, nobody can insult you, but…if you feel bad about yourself, nobody can make you feel better,” he told the student. “This is your tendency now…know that this tendency is not a permanent thing. It may change. I’ve seen many men who were gay later turn into heterosexuals, and there are those who are normal, who are called straight people, end up being gay later in life.

Homosexuality is not really a phase. The ignorance about same-sex relationships is so rampant in our country that many people still refer to it as an “abnormality”. Appalled at his ignorant comments on this matter, Sonam took to social media to express her opinion –
