Today in bizaro world, a 65 year old man set himself on fire because of Virat Kohlis poor performance in the first innings of the on-going test match against South Africa. As per reports on News 18 and Deccan Chronicle, Babubal Bairva, a retired railway employee who lived in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh was so mad at the captain, that he poured kerosene and set himself on fire.

Babulal was rushed to the hospital as his family and neighbours heard his cries. He suffered injuries on his head, hands and face. His condition was termed stable at first, but as per the latest update, the news is that Babulal has succumbed to his injuries.

The medical report did not indicate whether Bairva was drunk when he attempted suicide.

This isn’t the first time someone has taken such a drastic step due to the bad performance of the Indian cricket team. Following India’s defeat against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, an Indian fan in Bangladesh committed suicide, jumping in front of the train.
