Girl Power Who Run The World GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

2017 was all about some hardcore #GirlPower. From breaking stereotypes to going the extra mile, some B-town ladies did their bit in spreading fearlessness. These girl bosses taught us to never give up and to always believe in ourselves. And while they were at it, they even showed us how to look hella’ good! So we’d like to begin this year by giving a shoutout to these ultimate ladies, who are all about the hustle. Check out the girls who run the world and get your dose of inspiration.

1. Priyanka Chopra

Of course, the list had to begin with her. Priyanka Chopra doesn’t have the word ‘stop’ in her dictionary. If we begin to write out her achievements, we’d probably need an entire website! This firecracker was the first South Asian actress to win a People’s Choice Award in 2016 for her acting in Quantico. She broke the record of being named the World’s Sexiest Asian Woman by Eastern Eye five times in a row, and she also featured in Forbes’ list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women. It’s safe to say that her list of slayage is hard to keep track of.

IT moment: When PeeCee broke the internet in her custom-made Ralph Lauren trench gown with a massive train at NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

2. Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor‘s career has reached great heights recently with her recent work in cinema. Known as the reigning queen of fashion in Bollywood, she won the Fashion Icon of the Year award at the Vogue Women of the Year awards and IWC in 2017. She received the Special Mention Award at the 64th edition of the National Film Awards, which was her first National Award.  The coolest thing is that she and her sister Rhea Kapoor gave us a ‘Rheason’ to love fashion even more with their line of cool, wearable clothes.

3. Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan has taught us all to be proud of our womanhood. She was powerful and unstoppable even when she was expecting her first son, Taimur Ali Khan, clearly proving to the world that pregnancy does not and should not come in the way of your dreams. She was honoured with Filmfare 2017’s  Trendsetter Of The Year award. Her recent cover for Vogue‘s January issue, in which she wore a bright bikini blew our minds (yes that’s how quick she got back her hot bod post pregnancy!).

4. Lilly Singh

You’ve got to be living under a rock if you’ve not laughed, been inspired or touched by iiSuperwomanii a.k.a Lilly Singh. With 11.7 million subscribers on her channel, this Youtube sensation is one of the highest-earning influencers of 2016. She has her own published book—How To Be A Bawse and a massive collaboration with beauty retail giant Smashbox. Her good vibes and enduring girl power never cease to inspire girls all over the globe.

5. Masaba Gupta

Aside from being known as the ‘print machine’, designer maven Masaba Gupta has been brought on as the new fashion director of Satya Paul. She has had some major collaborations in recent times, the biggest one being with reputed watch company Titan and online fast fashion brand Koovs.com.

IT moment: When Masaba became the first Indian designer to interview the cast of The CrownClaire Foy and Matt Smith.

6. MissMalini

How can the bosslady list be completed without featuring the creator of sugar and spice and everything nice—MissMalini. After juggling many careers, she finally found her calling and made it big (or should we say HUGE) with her blog! She has won countless awards in the digital space and hosted many inspiring talks. From being a celeb BFF to living the Bollywood dream, she has not only built her empire with her trustworthy squad (including me!), she has also inspired everyone who has ever worked with her to find their own calling. #GirlPower to the max!

IT moment: #ToTheMoon, her very own autobiography published by Harper Collins is out now and everyone can’t wait to read how she blogged her way to Bollywood.
