If you thought season 1 of Big Little Lies was basically perfection (high five, we have such similar thoughts!), then season 2’s casting news is going to BLOW YOUR MIND. Yes, her highness Meryl Streep has signed on to feature in the next season of HBO’s multiple award winning prestige show which stars Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Alexander Skarsgård.

As per various reports, Streep will play Mary Louise Wright, the mother to the abusive Perry Wright (played to perfection by Alexander Skarsgard), who (spoiler alert!) was revealed to have been the one who died during the Emmy-winning first season of the David E. Kelley drama based on the Liane Moriarty novel. (Skarsgard is said to be returning in some capacity for season two.) Mary Louise Wright is described as a woman who is concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son Perry’s death. She arrives in Monterey searching for answers.

Basically, Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman will have multiple scenes together. After the phenomenal season 1, I’m already dying in anticipation for season 2, which they haven’t even started filming yet so be still, my beating heart.

If you haven’t watched the show yet, please do it, like right away.
