When it comes to Valentine’s Day, we usually think of romantic dates or a fun night out with our gang. This year, however, we wanted to focus on something different—Self-love. Thus, we’ve created a list of self-care rituals that you can do over the next few days.
1. Boost Up Those Endorphins
Whether it’s enrolling in a Bollywood dance class or going for a run, try to schedule some form of exercise in your day. Even 30 minutes of yoga can leave you more relaxed and in a better mood. Plus, you will be flaunting that just-worked-out glow that no highlighter can give you!
2. Pamper Your Skin
Give your face a little TLC. If you have the time, make an appointment for a professional facial or clean-up. Or, create a spa-like atmosphere at home with a few candles and a sheet mask. For a truly indulgent evening, draw up a hot bath to relax yourself.
3. Make Time For Your Hobbies
You know what guarantees a good mood and a clear mind? Spending time doing things you love! Whether it’s reading a mystery novel or doodling, try to fit a few minutes in every day for your hobbies.
4. Visit The Salon
With its whir of hair-dryers and cheerful ambiance, every salon exudes happy vibes. If you are looking to make a change, go forth and get that trendy haircut you’ve been dreaming of. Or, just get your nails done or eyebrows threaded to feel a little more put together.
5. Write A Love Note
Focusing on our flaws is a bad habit we are all guilty of. Instead of nitpicking, pen down a letter to yourself outlining all the good things you see in yourself. The positive thoughts will help raise your confidence.
6. Eat Well
Choose to eat foods that truly nourish your body and mind. Whilst a greasy takeout may seem like a good option, it will make you feel lethargic after a while. Instead, find recipes that celebrate fresh fruits and vegetables. And yes, having a bit of dessert here and there is perfectly fine too!
7. Splurge A Little
Whether it’s a new pair of shoes or a lipstick that makes you feel confident, go ahead and buy it for yourself. After all, what’s more precious than you?
Ideally, we should be practicing these rituals all year long, but Valentine’s month is always a good place to start!
