2017 was a great year for Taapsee Pannu. She impressed the critics with her powerful performance in Naam Shabana and also wowed the audience with her fun appearance in Judwaa 2. Plus, her popularity is soaring even higher with some incredible films that are lined up to release in 2018. The actress, who recently wrapped up the shoot of her next release down South, will now join Abhishek Bachchan in Amritsar to begin the shoot for Anurag Kashyap‘s Manmarziyan.
And now, a new feather has been added to her cap. Taapsee has been bestowed with the title of the 2nd most fastest growing actress in Bollywood. In an online report published by Ormax Media (widely acknowledged as the pioneers of film research in India), Taapsee has made it to the list alongside Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma. Alia is top followed by Taapsee and then Anushka.
Considering Taapsee started her journey in Bollywood only recently, it’s great to see her growth here. Talking about this recent development, she says:
2016 and 2017 have been amazing for me. While 2016 helped me get a place in my audience’s heart with Pink, 2017 helped the film industry take up notice with Naam Shabana n Judwaa 2. Now, I do feel a sense of responsibility as there are expectations attached and I do enjoy that feeling when my audience expects something out of me. For someone like me who came from no family support in the film industry , no Multi film deals with studios nor any godfather to fall back on, wherever I am today is because of my audience and that’s what pushes me to get better and better.
