It has been ten years since Sanjay Leela Bhansali introduced the world to Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor through his film Saawariya. Sonam has since then gone on to make a mark for herself in Bollywood and has done roles we’ve both – appreciated and on the other hand wondered why she did them. Anyway, if there’s one thing we really appreciate about her – it’s her honesty. She has spoken her mind right from day 1 – even if it has landed her in trouble!
In a recent interview with Huffington Post India, Sonam was asked about working with Bhansali again and here’s what she said.
I don’t think I am his kind of actor. That’s what it is. I am eternally grateful to him for giving me my debut but I just don’t think I am his kind of an actor. If he thought I suited something, I am sure he’ll cast me again.
She also spoke about wha makes her sign a film and say yes.
You need to feel from within that this film is enriching you as a person, it’s making you more than what you were before. I decided I’ll only sign films that tap into that feeling. And it’s been a great ride.
Her next film Veerey Di Wedding comes out in a couple of months and we can’t wait!
