We all need a little cheering up once in a while. Whether it’s work that has you bummed out or just people getting on your nerves, being in a sour mood isn’t a good feeling. Plus, you’ve got the whole frowning a lot makes you wrinkle faster, right? So, in order to prevent early ageing (not really) and cheer you up, we’ve got 10 things that are sure to get you in a better mood.

1. Play With A Puppy

Honestly, if you’ve never melted at the sight of a puppy, do you even have a heart? In all seriousness though, these little balls of fluff and love are the best way to cheer yourself up. Also, puppy kisses are the best feeling on this planet.

2. Meditate

Meditation is a proven remedy for a lot of things. So, it’s only natural that it helps with a bad mood. Sit down for five minutes and do some breathing exercises. It actually can act as an outlet and bring you in a calmer, more happier mood.

3. Binge Watch Happy Movies

We couldn’t think of a better way to spend a sick day than binge-watching movies that cheer us up. Pick your favourite genre and start. The movies act as a good distraction and can take your mind off things that are bothering you.

4. Surround Yourself With Your Happy Tribe

When you’re pissed off or feeling down, surrounding yourself with happy people, or people you like spending time with can be important. Most of us feed off the energy of others and it’s undeniable that happiness is contagious.

5. Listen To Music

Music is often considered an amazing outlet for emotions. Never underestimate how much happiness the right song can give you. Pretty sure we all have that playlist which is specially reserved for our more crankier moods.

6. Eat Some Comfort Food

It could be cake, chocolates, junk food, or even a salad. Whatever your favourite food is, eat it. If you’re on a diet, consider it your cheat meal for the day. Remember, a happy stomach makes for a happy mind.

7. Wear Bright Colours

While it may not be proven, the colours we wear could possibly have an effect on our mood. Think about it this way, if you’re down and out, and you see yourself in the mirror wearing a nice, bright yellow tee, you’re bound to smile a little. Either way, it’s always nice to wear bright colours regardless of the science behind it.

8. Take A Relaxing Hot Bath

Nothing is better than taking a nice and long hot bath, after a crazy day. The hot water helps relax your body and can literally help you wash away the stress. It also helps calm your nerves, so if you’re feeling a little anxious or irritated, try a hot bath, it may just help.

9. Shopping

In case you’re wondering how shopping helps you cheer up, well, we don’t know either. It just does! It could possibly be the fact that it gives you a sense of achievement, or maybe you got a really good deal. Regardless, you can’t deny, it feels pretty damn good.

10. Do The Happy Dance

You never really need a reason to dance. Just jump up and do the lamest dance you can possibly imagine yourself doing. The fact that you’re breaking out of your comfort zone is something that is sure to put a smile on your face. Besides, it totally works in Bollywood movies, right?
