Ever wondered if the person you’re dealing with had a large ego, or whether they were just really confident? Well, often times we find it hard to point a person who has a big ego. While the characteristics may be up for debate, what isn’t, are the signals these people give out. Here are 7 signs to keep an eye out for, that could help you detect an egomaniac.

1. They Are Aggressive And Vengeful

An egomaniac always tries to be more assertive and sometimes, might resort to aggression to prove their point. They don’t have a concept of personal space and often times can come across as in your face. Additionally, they also constantly try to seek out revenge. Anyone who doesn’t go with their flow automatically becomes an enemy.

2. They Try Their Hardest To Stand Out

Everyone is unique in their own way and trying to be something or someone else in order to stand out, never really works out. However, in the case of an egomaniac, all eyes have to be on them. They will go to seemingly ridiculous heights to get attention and stand out.

3. Their Self Obsession Is Through The Roof

All they can think about is themselves. No one is more important or above them. They essentially look down on people who aren’t at their level. They are also extremely vain and love conversations and topics to revolve around them and their success.

4. They Don’t Care Much About Their Friends

Egomaniacs don’t really care about the people around them. They often end up fighting with their friends and never really have those many close friends. Most people can’t tolerate them which is why you will always notice them with different cliques.

5. Ambition Beyond Measure

There is nothing that can stand in the way of their success. More accurately, they wouldn’t allow anything or anyone to stand in their way. What could only be considered greed, egomaniacs don’t have an ethic when it comes to their ambition.

6. They Will Never Let You Forget That One Bad Incident

They like to hold on to negativity. That one time you didn’t pick up their call or that one time you accidentally spilt something on them, they just can’t let it go. What most people would consider petty, is actually a very important event in their life.

7. They Like To Demean And Belittle Other People

An egomaniac is always on a pedestal. To them, no one is good enough or smart enough. They pick on people constantly and like dragging them through the mud for every little thing. They aren’t satisfied with anything and they will make sure they let you know their dissatisfaction, every step of the way.

Ultimately, there is no pleasing an egomaniac. You need to just take a step back and walk in the other direction. No amount of explaining or talking will ever get your point across. They are unable to see beyond their own nose.
