Prateik Babbar is all set to enter a new chapter in his life. After getting engaged to his girlfriend Sanya Sagar, Prateik is now squeaky clean and pretty excited about playing the villain in Baaghi 2 starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. In an interview to Indian Express, the actor opened up about his struggles with drug addiction and how cocaine nearly look his life –
I learnt the hard way, and I learnt the wrong way. I almost lost myself. In 2015, I almost died of an overdose of cocaine. That’s what turned things around for me. And then I realized I had to get out there and go for what I wanted. A second chance at life was my motivation. It was also about making my grandparents proud. There was a gap that started building up between my grandparents and me and then as I started getting older I started getting very angry with the whole situation. I didn’t want to listen to anybody. There was anger and hate. Toh chaalu ho gaya phir. Nashebaazi ka raasta mil gaya mujhe aur bhatak gaya main. Bahut saal atak gaya main. (So it started, I found my escape in drugs and got lost. I was stuck for many years). I am so glad that it’s all over and I have to just move forward with a smile on my face.
We’re glad he’s clean now. After his breakout performance in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, Prateik made some bad movie choices, but after his break, the actor has some interesting films coming up. All the best!
