Bollywood’s beloved Shammi aunty died earlier today at the age of 89, after a prolonged illness. She was seen in over 200 films, in lead as well as supporting roles. Some of her most popular films were Coolie No 1, Hum, Gopi Kishan, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Khuda Gawah, The Burning Train, Arth & many others. She was a popular face on television too, having done shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Shriman Shrimati, Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh and Filmi Chakkar. She was last seen in the 2013 film Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, starring Farah Khan & Boman Irani.

Sanjay Dutt’s sister, Priya Dutt also posted a message for her beloved Shammi aunty:
