Denim is the sturdy fabric that is most commonly associated with jeans. It is the synonym for jeans for all of us, and we can’t picture it in any other way. But designers nowadays are experimenting with this material and breaking the norm of it being used only to make pants or overalls. In fact, the characteristics of the fabric make it a great construction base for a variety of outfits.

Shilpa Shetty

If not the designers then let Shilpa Shetty Kundra prove it to you that denim can be versatile too. As a true fashionista, she does not shy away from experimenting with denim in different styles. The best thing about is that she makes it look very approachable. Here are a few of her outfits that upgrade denim from its regular niche.

1. A Cute Skater Dress

A soft denim can lend itself to make a pretty skater dress. Shilpa opted for this Mayyur Girotra number that was sartorially fabulous. We feel the pleating on the sleeves is on point because of the denim used.

2. A Boho Denim Pantsuit

We’re lovin’ the new pantsuit trend that is making a major moment in B-Town, and of course, Shilpa has her unique take on it. The standout elements of this Aruni Designs ensemble are the patchwork of the embroidery and the denim base.

3. A Voluminous Denim Sharara

How to add denim to your ethnic wear? Here’s how Shilpa does it. She teams her angarkha style kurta with a voluminous denim sharara, designed by Shivangi Sahni.

4. A Hint Of Denim

Yup, an outstanding outfit also needs a play of denim. Shilpa went for this cool outfit by Kanika Goyal, which had denim cuffs as a part of the sleeves.

5. A Statement-Making Denim Sari

Believe it or not, a softer version of this fabric can make for a beautiful 6-yard drape. Shilpa opted for this trailblazing sari from White Elephant by Mayyur Girotra and totally changed our perception of this fabric.

Okay, some of these denim outfits have blown our minds and we’re surely thinking of including denim in a cool new way in our wardrobes too.
