Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan‘s adorable baby boy, Taimur is a little more a year old & enjoys immense media attention. As parents, Saif and Kareena decided not to hide him or keep him away from the media glare as that will only add to the curiosity. Everything from Taimur’s airport appearances with his mommy to his holiday photos is out there, clearly, the media is obsessed with him. (Guilty as charged)
It started when Taimur was barely a few hours old, and the family officially announced his name which was immediately attacked by the trolls. Saif and Kareena stood their ground and explained the meaning of their son’s name, which IMO, was quite unnecessary. Why should they even have to do that?! It’s completely their choice what they want to name their newborn, right?!
At the recent India Today Conclave in Mumbai, Kareena spoke about this to journalist Rajdeep Sardesai:
Of course, there was trolling but at the same time there was an immense support from the people we were getting, not that trolls matter to us that much but it was our choice. The day before I was going to the hospital for delivery, I had a talk with Saif and he was suggesting to keep his name Faiz. He said, “Bebo, that is a more poetic, more romantic name”. I said “No, Taimur means iron and if I give birth to a son, my son is going to be a fighter, I will produce an iron man”. And yes, I proudly did so.
