Almost a month has passed since Sridevi‘s death and it’s still hard to believe that she is not with us anymore. Our heart goes out to her daughters, Janhvi and Khushi, and husband, Boney Kapoor who are dealing with an untimely loss of such magnitude.
Before her death, Sridevi was reportedly confirmed for Abhishek Varman‘s period drama set in 1940s. The film, reportedly titled Shiddat, also had Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. In her latest Instagram post, Janhvi revealed that Madhuri Dixit has now stepped in to fill her mother’s role and also thanked her.

As per reports, the film’s backdrop is the India-Pakistan partition. Dutt and Sridevi were supposed to play parents to a young couple, rumoured to be Varun and Alia, whereas Aditya will probably play the former’s brother. It’s being produced by Dharma Productions in collaboration with Fox Star Studios and Sajid Nadiadwala.
