As a Beauty Editor, one of the most rewarding aspects is the truck load of products I receive on a daily basis. Constantly being surrounded by boxes, bottles and tubes, both in the office and at home can be overwhelming but so much fun. So when GlamGlow came out with their #GlitterMask, it was a definitely on my must-try list! Glitter is back in a big way in the beauty world and with it now diving into face masks, skincare is becoming so much more playful.
I roped in my masking buddy and sister, Tanya and dipped into the luminous silver box for some late night maskin‘.
Here’s what you need to know about the Insta-rampant face mask phenomena:
- It’s a holographic sparkle treatment.
- The glitter is purely there for aesthetics.
- It makes your skin feel firmer and tighter.
- It’s suitable for all skin types.
- It photographs brilliantly with the KiraKira app.
Here’s how we used it:
- On clean, dry skin we applied a generous and even layer. I used the brush that came with the product and Tanya used her fingers.
*Avoid going too close to your eyebrows and hairline because… Ouch! - We left it on for about 25-30 minutes. And once completely dry, we gently started peeling it off from the edges.
- Next, was a rinse with lukewarm water to get out any excess residue.
*Try dabbing off the water with a soft towel to keep skin soft. - Post that, I applied an eye cream and went to bed.

After using this mask, one of the most frequent questions asked was:
“Does the glitter hurt?”
Answer: Nope! Because of the mixture, the mask is super smooth and glides onto the skin very well. Even during the drying process, the specks of glitter don’t irritate or get in contact with the skin. Reason being, they use high quality cosmetic glitter like the ones you’d find in makeup!
All in all, the mask is not only safe and fun but the results are incandescent. Also, it’s super satisfying to peel off!
