Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s relationship is way past the “Will they? Won’t they?” phase. Everyone, especially their fans have now moved on to, “Where’s the wedding invitation?” For the past few months, there’s been constant speculation about the wedding date, the venue, their wedding looks and everything that comes with being a star couple in Bollywood. But your hearts might break a little after you see what Ranveer recently disclosed about the whole wedding affair.
In a recent interview with Spice Route magazine, the actor revealed that they will not be getting married this year.
He went on to explain:
It is the function of speculation – to exist. Nothing is official till it is made official and I am not a seer. I cannot say this will happen on this date in the future. Right now we are both extremely busy working. Besides, she is also recuperating from back problems. So we are quite occupied and distracted. So, if there is any announcement in the future, you will be hearing me shouting from the rooftops.
Deepika also subtly dismissed their wedding rumours in an interview with Rajeev Masand:
When it is time, I think I will know it. But as an institution, I think it is extremely important because that’s the way I have been raised. It is extremely important for me to see myself like that. It is every girl’s dream. I have always followed my instincts and I think I will feel it when I am ready or when it has to happen.
Given how eccentric Ranveer is known to be, shouting from the rooftops seems like the perfect way to announce their wedding (and we’ll be eagerly waiting). But for now, it seems like the couple is in no rush to tie the knot.
