Over the decades, there have been plenty of rumours floating around Hollywood. Whether they are fact or fiction, these rumours or theories make the rounds regardless. While many celebrities have been victim to death hoaxes, some have managed to gain their very own conspiracy theories. Here are some of the most bizarre theories we’ve come across.

1. Avril Lavigne Died And Was Replaced By A Doppelganger

The now iconic pop star rose to fame with her super hit album Sk8ter Boi. Avril pretty much ruled the ’90s and the early 2000s and was a major sensation. By 2007, her famous style became a little more mellow and started sounding a lot like what other people were doing. Well, according to a theory, the real Avril took her own life in 2003 following some trauma and was replaced by a doppelganger named Melissa Vandella. Melissa was actually a real person hired by Avril to confuse the paparazzi but stepped in after the “real” Avril died. While many believed this is actually why Avril’s music went a poppier route, there were those who were quick to call it out as fake. There were way too many loopholes and falsehoods.

2. Marisa Tomei And Her Oscar Win

If you thought the accidental naming of La La Land over Moonlight at the Oscars was the first time something like that happened, you’d be wrong. Back in 1993, Jack Palance wasn’t able to read the name on his card which had the winner of the best-supporting-actress on it. Not knowing what to do, he blurted out the name of Marisa Tomei who was nominated for her role in My Cousin Vinny. Everyone in the audience was shocked as the movie was just a screwball comedy that had come out a year earlier. the other nominees were much bigger contenders. The theory goes that the real winner was either Vanessa Redgrave or Judy Davis but the academy was too embarrassed to correct their mistake. Many still believe that Marisa actually deserved it and was the rightful winner. Well, we guess we’ll never know, will we?

3. Lorde Is Actually 48 Years Old

Or so the theory goes! Apparently, songs like Royals just can’t be written by someone who was only 17 at the time. While this theory has very little merit to it, many people pulled up various interviews with the singer where she seemed to be “confused” whether or not she was actually a teenager. We agree with the people who pointed out that many out there were just reading way too much into the whole situation.

4. Keanu Reeves Is Immortal

Well sure, we’d all like to believe this amazing actor and human is actually immortal. Sadly, he just ages like fine wine and is hella handsome. This theory however actually originated when people realised how similar he looked to Paul Mounet, a French actor from the 1800s. Not only that, he also looked like a host of other historical figured. So people started believing that they’re all the same person and now he is known as Keanu Reeves.

5. Beyonce Kidnapped Sia And Forced Her To Write Songs

Did your eyebrow just raise? Well, so did ours! Apparently, there are people out there who believe that Beyonce kidnapped Sia, locked her in a dungeon and forced her to write music for her. Sia was supposedly her platinum hit farm! This whacky conspiracy theory actually originated in Brazil back in 2016 and somehow, managed to sneak its way around the world. Funny enough, it’s a thing people still talk about. While the origins and details are a bit murky around this, it’s said that this originates from Sia’s interview with Billboard. At the time, she said that working with Beyonce was like a writing camp and that she was very Frankenstein when it came to the whole process.
