1. Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan

There is no denying that this fort is one of the most haunted places in India. Even the Archaeological Society of India has warnings all over, requesting visitors to vacate the premises after sunset. It’s actually such a scary place that people from all over the world come to see if they too can experience a supernatural occurrence. The story goes that there was a tantrik called Singhia who fell in love with Princess Ratnavati and decided to try and use magic to win her over. When she learnt of his plans, she ordered him to be killed. Before his death, he cursed all the residents of the fort to die and all the villagers to remain roofless. Till date, many villages are still roofless because every time someone builds a roof, it mysteriously collapses.

2. Kuldhara, Rajasthan

This little village located near Jaisalmer is known as the deserted ghost village. It was abandoned back in the 19th century. The village, which was established in 1291 was known for their business knowledge and agricultural expertise. In 1825, all the people of Kuldhara and surrounding villages vanished without a trace. While the story of their disappearance seems to be related to the threat of huge taxes, it’s the curse the villagers set upon the place that is the talking point. When they were forced to leave, they cursed the village so that it could never be inhabited by anyone.

3. Dumas Beach, Surat

Could a haunted beach actually exist? Well, it turns out that one actually does! It is said that the Dumas Beach was used as a burial ground for a long time. It was the final resting place for many tortured souls. Many people have reported hearing whispers and seeing people, while they took a walk on the beach. It is also said that if you head there for a midnight stroll, it’s the last anyone will ever see of you.

4. GP Block, Meerut

This place is officially one of the most haunted places in North India. From ghosts of girls in red dresses and ghosts of men drinking outside the building, this place is said to have a lot of ghosts. No one has been able to figure out who these people were because if anyone gets close, they just disappear. If you plan on visiting this house, we suggest you prepare yourself because the chances of an occurrence are high!

5. Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad

This famous place is one of the biggest film cities in the country! However, it’s also considered one of the most haunted places in India. Many witnesses have claimed that they’ve seen spotlights falling, light men being pushed and even claimed that strange marks have appeared on mirrors. Many crew members have suffered severe injuries and some have even been locked in their rooms.

6. Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune

This fort is said to be haunted by the spirit of a 13-year-old boy, who was brutally murdered. The boy, who was also a prince, was heir to the throne of the Peshwa Dynasty. Many locals and even visitors have claimed to hear the little boy screaming out for his uncle to save him. The words ‘kaka mala vachwa‘, is something that is often heard here and is enough to give you a chill that will run up your spine. This occurrence is all the more prominent during a full moon.

7. Vas Villa, Bengaluru

This lovely villa was once home to the Vas sisters, Doice Vas and Vera Vas. One day, Doice was stabbed to death in her own home and was also buried there. After this horrible incident her sister, Vera, moved out and was never to be seen again. It is now claimed to be haunted by the spirit of Doice. The amount of negative energy that surrounds the villa is undeniable and it’s also a place that people shouldn’t visit.
