While the entire nation was wishing him ‘Happy Birthday’, Varun Dhawan was busy working out and prepping for his role in Kalank. But as birthdays go, he too had to cut a cake, blow off candles and was subjected to some off-note happy birthday singing. Stars… they’re just like us, aren’t they?
Except, he was surrounded by the cast and crew of the film including Alia Bhatt, who took to her Instagram stories to wish the star by sharing two videos of how they celebrated Varun’s birthday on sets.

In the second story on her Instagram, we can hear her asking Varun what his thoughts are on his 31st birthday, to which Varun replies “I’m 16” and he goes on to feed his trainer and asks Alia which of the three cakes she can eat. So cute! They sound like best friends.
A week ago, both Alia and Varun had taken to social media to announce that they will be part of the project and would start shooting soon.
And from the past few days, Varun has been working out in preparation for Kalank and have been sharing the results on Instagram.

Alia also took to her Instagram stories, to share a boomerang of Day 3 of shooting Kalank.
This is the fourth movie that Alia and Varun will be doing together and it also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Sanjay Dutt.
