Karan Johar‘s epic drama, Kalank is one of the biggest films that was announced this year and has a glitzy ensemble star-cast. But the movie went through a few major changes before it was officially announced, one of it was the title of the film which initially supposed to be Shiddat. Apart from that, Madhuri Dixit is a new addition to the cast as her role was previously going to be played by the late Sridevi.
Janhvi Kapoor even thanked her for doing so:
But this was neither a quick nor an easy decision for the makers of the film. It is public knowledge that Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri haven’t been on good terms for a long time. And while the actress had no qualms about it, Sanjay expressed his hesitation towards being cast opposite her but he eventually came around and Karan had a big role to play in that.
A source from Dharma Productions revealed to Free Press Journal:
Karan reminded Dutt that whatever had happened between Dixit and Dutt was in the past, that they are now happily married and with children. Let the past bury itself.
The source also said:
Their track is being done with utmost discretion. No one will be allowed to feel uncomfortable.
The film’s shooting has already begun and the expectations are already set pretty high.
