Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday for questioning regarding the 2000 crore Bitcoin scam.
Raj’s name was brought to their attention during another accused Amit Bharadwaj‘s interrogation. Amit was arrested on the 5th of April this year.
A notice was sent to users who were associated with trading of bitcoins with a value of 1 crore and more daily by The Income Tax Department. They even probed ED later of a possible scam being conducted by sending them the list of these users.
The ED is yet to reveal whether Raj was questioned for being just another investor tricked by Amit or was he involved in the fraud.
Earlier, Raj was also involved in the IPL betting controversy and has been banned from any cricket-related activities, ever since.
His team Rajasthan Royals returned to the field this year after serving a two-year ban.
