With our busy and fast-paced lifestyle, it’s important to stay fit, eat light and eat healthily. We deal with so much stress, that we should de-stress with a good run or workout. That helps you burn calories, builds immunity and most importantly, keeps you fit. But there are times when we exercise religiously and still not see results. If that’s happening to you, here are a few things you should do to speed things up.

1. Count Calories

When you start tracking your calorie intake, you will automatically get conscious of your eating habits. You will know exactly how many calories you can consume and how to divide them between your meals. There are apps nowadays that will help you keep track.

2. Measure Yourself

Measure yourself in inches instead of weighing yourself. Your weight could change due to irregular bowel movements, water retention and other such things that could demotivate you.

4. Cut Calories

Sometimes, you may think you’re eating healthy but most ‘healthy’ things these days have hidden calories that you don’t know you’re consuming. It’s better to avoid diet food from the supermarket and create your own meal plan. Cook your meals at home and cut down on your calories.

5. Avoid Cheating

Most times we behave ourselves and stick to our diet plan. But there are times when we crave some junk food. We think it’s okay to cheat once in a while, but one thing leads to another, and before you know it, you’re many kilos up.

6. Measure Your BMI

It’s important to measure your Body Mass Index to understand how many calories you can intake in order to reduce weight and stay fit. There are ways to quickly calculate your BMI online. It’s possible that you may have been over or under your BMI and that’s probably why you haven’t seen desired results.

7. Don’t Overtrain

Initially, we get so pumped to lose weight that we overwork our body. The mistake we make is not giving the body a break to recover from strenuous workouts. The body needs time to rebuild the muscles you tore during your workout and rest. Stretch enough and get regular massages.

8. Avoid Repeating Workouts

There is a point when the body is used to a workout and doesn’t really produce desired results after a while. Hence, it is important to keep changing your workouts every now and then.

9. Have Patience

Once we start working out, we tend to check the weighing scale after a few days and while the weight might change for a few people, most people start seeing results only after a few weeks. It is important to know that everybody is different and eventually, there will be visible changes. So, do not quit and just keep going.

With the above, you may be able to experience visible results on your body. Make sure to stick to a healthy diet and don’t skip workouts.
