Janhvi Kapoor‘s Bollywood debut has been one of the most waited debut’s of this year. Janhvi after a long wait made her debut opposite Ishaan Khatter in Dhadak, the trailer of which released today and man, that was a promising one. A remake of Nagraj Manjule‘s Sairat, Dhadak had a fresh twist and it ended up going viral on social media instantly.
The entire cast was present at the trailer launch where Janhvi was asked by Karan Johar, her reaction when she watched Sairat. The actress revealed that after she watched the Marathi film, she had had a long conversation with her mother Sridevi and wanted her debut film to be similar.
Janhvi said,
I saw the film with Mom at home. I remember watching it and telling mom that I wish this was my first film. I wish I could do something like this. Then mom and I had a big discussion about how even she wanted a role like this for me and then sometime later Karan called. It all just worked out.
Seems like the universe heard Janhvi loud and clear.
