Priyanka Chopra after three years has finally chosen her next Bollywood project. PeeCee was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani in 2015 and now will finally be seen opposite Salman Khan in Bharat. The film which is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar is a remake of the Korean film Ode To My Father and Priyanka is the leading lady of this one. While the shooting for this film will go on floors in July, a recent report in Midday suggested that the Priyanka is being paid 12 crores which is equal too to the amount Deepika Padukone was paid for Padmaavat.

Both Priyanka and Deepika are one of the highest paid Bollywood divas and with PeeCee being paid 12 crores; the actress has come to par with Deepika. The report also suggested that Priyanka’s team had demanded a remuneration of 14 crores for the film, with the makers finally settling on 12.

With actresses demanding equal pay as much as their male co-star, it feels like Bollywood is finally taking a step towards gender pay parity.

Deepika had already agreed on a television show that she was paid more than Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor for the period drama and with Priyanka being paid the same amount, we couldn’t be happier.

#GirlPower is finally ruling!
