Bollywood loves to recreate century-old love stories and bring to the celluloid. From Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, we have seen stories of love, revenge, and battles on the 70 mm and now yet another one is in the pipeline. Akshay Kumar is gearing up to play King Prithviraj Chauhan, reported DNA. The film will be mounted on a huge scale by Yash Raj Films and will be directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

The team will also recreate the 12th century for it. Chandraprakash has been planning to make a movie on Prithviraj Chauhan for the last two-and-a-half years now. Akshay has been his only choice for the role. Aditya loved his storytelling and decided to back the project. This film will showcase Akshay as a warrior and also narrate the epic love story of Prithviraj and Sanyukta.
As Akshay is busy with films, the Khiladi actor will begin shooting for the film after he wraps up Hera Pheri 3 next year. The team is currently busy with research and pre-production.
