Sanju opened to full houses and raving reviews on Friday, but amidst all that bustle did you ever wonder how the man on whom the movie is based on would have felt while watching the movie? Because we sure did and we’ve finally got the answer. To be honest, we didn’t expect anything less. We have to give it to Sanjay Dutt for having bared his life- the good, bad and ugly for the entire world to see. While Sanjay has always been supportive of the project, he wasn’t fully involved in the shooting of the film. We can only imagine how nervous the cast and crew must’ve been when showing him, his biopic.
In an interview with ABP News, Rajkumar Hirani revealed how the real-life Sanju reacted to his reel life counterpart.
Before the screening, I suddenly got frightened. We had shown everything and he never came to the shoot. I was wondering, what will be his reaction? We might get beaten up too. He was sitting in the seat next to mine. He was watching the film and I was stealthily watching his reactions.
Apparently, the actor did not have any reaction throughout the whole movie but couldn’t help but break down as the end credits rolled.
It was only when the film ended that he cried and hugged me and Ranbir.
We can imagine how emotional the entire experience must’ve been for Sanjay, but we’re glad that the movie got its final approval from the actor.
