Sanju released on Friday to crowded theatres and raving reviews, but to dampen the celebratory mood the pirated version of the movie leaked a day after, going viral on WhatsApp and other platforms. Even though the makers had taken pre-emptive measures by even releasing the movie on Friday than the usual Thursdays in the Middle-East. This was to reduce the chance of it getting leaked from there, but unfortunately, this didn’t work out in their favour. The makers of the movie are soon taking measures to close the sources of piracy.

According to Mid-Day, Fox Star Studios and the distributors of the movie appointed five different teams on Saturday to ensure that the circulated pirated copy of the movie is deleted as early as possible. The teams have been asked to trace the origin of the leaks as well. Meanwhile, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra have already lodged a complaint with the cyber cell.

A source revealed,

While the five teams are trying to pull the film down from various sites, a few download links are still available. In a pre-emptive move, the makers had released the film in the UAE only on Friday, instead of Thursday as is the norm, hoping that it would reduce the chances of it getting leaked from the Middle East. Ideally, the team should have procured a John Doe order, given how rampant piracy has become in this country.

The cyber cell has extended their support to the producers as well.

The tech team of the cyber cell too is helping the in-house team in curbing the piracy. If the pirated copies exist post Monday, the cell will take the matter into their hands and begin a thorough investigation.

We hope the matters get resolved as quickly as possible and people actually take to the theatres to watch the film.
