The trailer of Milap Zaveri’s Satyameva Jayate starring John Abraham, Manoj Bajpayee and debutant Aisha Sharma was recently released. While it has got a positive response from the audience, the film has already landed in a controversy over a particular scene. A BJP leader, Syed Ali Jaffry has filed a complaint in Hyderabad against the film for hurting religious sentiments of the Shia community.

In the complaint which is filled with the Hyderabad Police, the community has demanded strict action to be taken against the makers. John is seen committing a murder following Mattam and the leader has accused the makers of their direct or indirect attempt to hurt the Shia communities religious sentiments. They had approached the Station House Officer (SHO) on 28th of June right after the trailer released to file a complaint. Post which, they also approached the state Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) who has assured them of forwarding their complaint to the CBFC’s head office.

The group has demanded to register a case against the makers under Cinematograph Act and Section 295A of the IPC and have also threatened to protest it their demands are not met.

The makers are yet to comment on the same.
