We’ve been enjoying the continuous rain showers all weekend. Some of us went out for a getaway and some of us stayed in to watch movies, host game nights or just drank to celebrate this amazing weather. But if it rains on a Monday, everyone has only one reaction— FML! We instantly text our bosses for a holiday as every road is flooded and there’s no way we can get out. Many of us in fact, are stranded on the streets. For times like these, we need to always be prepared. Here are a few ways you could be prepared in case you’re stranded or have to venture out in the rains.

1. Always Carry An Umbrella

To avoid getting suddenly drenched, make sure to carry an umbrella always. It could be bright and sunny when you leave, but you never know when the rain gods feel like dropping some love on us.

2. Carry Snacks

God forbid, but what if you’re stranded in a traffic jam for a long time than expected? Always carry some nuts or crackers with you when you travel to give yourself some energy to deal with the chaos.

3. Leave Your House With A Buffer Of 45 Minutes

You never know when a small drizzle could quickly turn into a storm. Make sure to leave your house 45 minutes earlier than you usually do. You rather reach earlier than get a late strike at work.

4. Always Carry A Napkin

The worst feeling during the monsoon is reaching a place all mucky and wet. Carry a napkin to dry yourself off instantly.

5. Wear Appropriate Shoes

Bid your suede footwear goodbye this season. Wear shoes that have a good grip and won’t make you slide to work. Monsoon is the season to slip, fall and hurt yourself badly if you’re not careful. Make sure to wear shoes that breathe, easy to wear and support your balance.

6. Take Extra Care Of Your Tech

This season we’ve gotta be extra careful of our phones and laptops. The last thing we want is to drop our phones in a puddle. Make sure to carry a ziplock pouch for your phone and cash, and wrap your laptop in a silicon sleeve before you head out.

7. Carry A Sanitizer

Monsoon is the time to disinfect all the germs lurking on your body when you walk into puddles. Wipe yourself and make sure to sanitize your hands before you eat something (if you can’t wash them instantly) to avoid falling sick.

We highly recommend staying safe during this time. Nothing is more important in the world than safety during a time like this. If things get really bad, head home. And if it isn’t as bad, carry on to experience this adventure. Tell us how you manage in the comments below.
