Hello.

We’re doing something a little different today. Like you, we’re tired of the inequality, discrimination, trolling, sexism, and violence we see in the news and social media every day.

We at MissMalini are looking inwards to discover how we can drive real social change. We acknowledge that change starts at home, and that it is up to us to be the change we wish to see in the country we love.

If you’ve been experiencing a sudden burst of pimples on your face, even though you’ve moisturised, eaten healthy and done everything right, don’t get dejected just yet. There could be a bunch of other bad habits that may be the cause and you never even realised. Check them out…

1. Applying SPF just once

We all know that applying sunscreen before leaving the house is a must. But do you also know that it’s important to re apply it every few hours, especially if you’re out in the sun.

2. DIY-ing without research

At-home remedies are fun and easy. But what some may not realise is that people have different skin types, and that some ingredients in the DIY may not suit the person which could lead to a chemical reaction and turn out to be disastrous.

3. Picking at your pimples

Pimples are a horrible phenomena. But touching and picking that them maybe not be the best option for you. Bacteria can tend to rest on our hands most of the time, especially if you’re out of the house a lot. So try and keep those fingers away and wash your face regularly.

4. Over cleansing/exfoliating your face

Cleansing and exfoliating your skin is a good practice to follow. But when your over-do it, it could lead to tearing of the top layer of your skin, making it more sensitive and delicate.

5. Sleeping with your makeup on

Say hello to the worst of the lot! Not removing your makeup before you get into bed can be one of the most damaging things you can do to your skin. The chemicals and ingredients in the products can can clog your pores, which can lead to bacteria and acne build up.

6. Showering with super hot water

Takin a shower with pipping hot water can be a little too harsh for your skin. It can make your skin feel dry and sensitive. So try and keep the steamy showers to a minimum.

7. Not getting enough Zzzz

We all know that getting upto a minimum of 8 hours of sleep is necessary for our minds, energy levels, metabolism and mood. But it’s also super essential for the health of our skin. When our skin is devoid of sleep it becomes pale and washed out.
