Katrina Kaif is the latest victim of the internet and its beauty standards for women and we’re not having it at all. Zoom Tv, a leading entertainment news website recently claimed: “There is something wrong with Katrina Kaif’s sense of style and face.” Now let’s break it down for a second. The photos in question here were of Katrina coming back from her trip to London and walking out of the airport, smiles and all. She was dressed in black joggers and a black jacket—So trust us when we say that her outfit was as normal as it could get. Take a look for yourself:

Now I don’t know about you, but I cannot see how Katrina’s style is inappropriate or un-stylish in any way. Yes, ‘Airport Style’ has surely become a thing that a lot of celebrities are indulging in. We see them sport the latest brands from Gucci to Zimmerman and more but that doesn’t mean it is a norm for every actress to dress up at the airport. The title of the article itself sensationalized something as trivial as an airport look and I couldn’t wait to see what else they said inside it—Maybe it was a sarcastic take on airport looks? Maybe they were talking about how Katrina made a funny face while posting for the paps? But to my disappointment, they actually meant every word when they said—“There is something wrong with Katrina Kaif’s sense of style and face.”

The beauty standards for women continue to be skewed against them and the internet isn’t helping. We need to move on from the negativity and see women for who they are and not just for what they wear. I hope we someday reach a virtual world that is more inclusive, loving and uplifting towards women instead of pointing out their flaws and making empty news pieces out of it.

This is one of the biggest reasons why the #ItEndsWithMe movement that every individual—journalist or not needs to live by because its time for us to stop being the bullies, the judgemental ones and start calling out bullsh*t when we see it because I’m convinced it’s our only way to a happier, more inclusive world.
