I am not a fan of the lumpy pattice and the bland ragda of the ragda pattice of Mumbai and never order it. The Sindhi chhole pattice, at the Punjabi owned VIG Refreshment at Chembur, is another level of hotness though. The outer breadcrumb layer of the shallow fried pattice is crunchy. The layer of potato mash below that, well seasoned. At the core it has a well spiced but not overspiced Bengal gram or channa heart. The combination of the pattice with the hearty chhole, which has little potato bits snuggled in it, and sliced raw red onion and the watery coriander and green chilly pounded green chill chutney is what the phrase ‘breakfast of champions’ is all about. Eat the pattice when freshly fried rather than parcelling them to take them home, take a friend along so that you can share the dietary sins and celebrate life together. #sindhifood #chholepattice #pattice #VIG #breakfast #finelychoppedbrekfasts #breakfastofchampions #foodblogger #foodwriter #foodie #mumbaifood #indianfood #vegetarianfood #chickpea #croquette #instafood #mumbaifinelychopped #mumbaistories #immigrantstories #mumbaiheritage #chembur #mumbaibreakfast
