It was only a last week that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan confirmed that she and her husband Abhishek Bachchan would be seen in Anurag Kashyap‘s Gulab Jamun together. While all the Abhi-Ash fans including myself were doing the jig at this news, looks like Anurag has managed to surprise us even further with the casting. If reports are to be believed, he seems to have managed a casting coup of sorts by also casting Amitabh Bachchan in the film!
Gulab Jamun, directed by Sarvesh-Mewara is touted as a slice-of-life film that tells the story of a three-generation family and Sr.Bachchan will play the first generation.

After initiating talks with Abhishek and Ash, the makers had given a narration to Big B last year, following which he had suggested a few tweaks to the script. It was after the wrap-up of Manmarziyan last month that conversation around this film started again. Anurag reached out to Big B with the reworked script. If all goes as planned, he will be on board soon. It is yet unknown whether he will be playing a father to Abhishek or Aishwarya.
The trio will be coming together on screen after 10 years after Sarkar Raj back in 2008. I’m super excited for this film now! Who wouldn’t be?
