Priyanka Chopra had made headlines when Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar had tweeted her exit from the film. While reports at the time suggested that she was doing so at the ‘Nick’ of time because she was getting engaged to beau Nick Jonas around the same time her schedule was to start, which was sometime around September. Soon after her exit from Bharat, news of her joining the cast of Christ Pratt‘s Cowboy Ninja Viking had broke out making people wonder if it was something else that made her quit the Salman Khan starrer Bharat. While PeeCee will still be doing Shonali Bose‘s The Sky Is Pink, reports DNA suggest that our desi girl has turned down yet another huge Bollywood movie by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Yup, I am shocked too.
Apparently, a year ago, rumours said that Priyanka was going to collaborate with SLB for a film based on a female gangster Gangubai Kothewali. But unfortunately, according to latest news that won’t be happening because PeeCee has decided to opt out of this movie as well. A source revealed to DNA that SLB was planning to make the movie with Priyanka as the main lead but PeeCee’s new Hollywood project Cowboy Ninja Viking came in the way of this one and now the filmmaker has put off making it anywhere in the near future. PeeCee has remained tight-lipped about both her exits.
As a PeeCee and SLB fan, I am personally a little upset with the news. I was really looking forward to seeing more of Priyanka in Bollywood and I would have loved to see her play the lead of an SLB magnum opus.
