I loved Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. The casting was apt and Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were a perfect fit for the script. But I always wondered what the film would be like if Kareena Kapoor Khan starred in it instead of Deepika. After all, she was SLB’s first choice for the film. Now it seems like, I will finally get to witness Ranveer and Kareena in one frame and that too essaying the role of royals. Yes, you heard me right. As per a report in Koimoi, Karan Johar will be donning the director’s chair yet again and the film will be period drama set in the Mughal dynasty.
The film will star two male leads and three female leads and Ranveer and Kareena are already roped in, to essay the role of brother and sister. The sister’s role is pivotal in the film and thus Bebo has been roped in to play the character. The film will showcase the story of two brothers, with the elder one being Ranveer. The makers are searching for an actor to essay the role of the younger brother who will also be the antagonist of the flick. Apart from Kareena and Ranveer, Alia Bhatt has also been cast by Karan to essay the role of Ranveer’s love interest and the search for the younger brother’s love is in the process too.
A source also informed that Ranbir had initially agreed to be a part of this period drama but later decided to step out from it.
Wow, this star cast has already got me excited for the film and I can’t wait to witness it.
