From some of the best meditation retreats to the beautiful beaches and coral reefs, Bali is everyone’s favourite place to visit. Throughout the year, tourists from all over the world flock to this little Indonesian island for a little RnR and a quick get-away. One of the major reasons why Bali is often many people’s go-to destination is because of the extremely good currency conversion rate! While most of Indonesia is considered a budget-friendly country, there’s no harm saving a little more, no? So, here’s your guide to a budgeted trip to Bali!

1. Travel

Travel is one of the most crucial and also the most expensive part of the trip. So, let’s get that out of the way first!

Visa Cost

If you’re an Indian passport holder, you do not need a visa to enter Bali! At the counter, you’ll receive what they call a visa exemption stamp. Just remember that this applies only if you’re planning to stay for less than 30 days!

Airfare

Alright, so if you’re one of those last-minute bookings kinda of person, you’re probably going to end up spending a fair bit! So we recommend you do your bookings at least a month in advance! When we checked it, a round-trip should come to about ₹ 25,000 ++. Make sure you’re on the lookout for deals!

Places To Visit

Some of the must-visit places in Bali are; Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa Dua and Ubud. There are a few more but if you haven’t got a lot of time, the four cities mentioned here are something that should be on your must-visit list! If time permits, check out the rest because some of the more off-beat places are actually beautiful as well.

Internal Travel

Amongst all the places in Indonesia, Bali is actually considered to be one of the most expensive. That being said, if you want to stick to a strict budget you’d roughly spend about ₹ 6000. Again, this is considering a medium amount of travel.

Total travel budget for 7 days: ₹ 35,000 ++.

2. Accommodation

While Bali does seem to be becoming more expensive, the one thing you’re guaranteed to find on a budget is your accommodation! You’d actually get a really good place to stay at extremely reasonable prices. When we were researching, we were actually pretty shook by the kind of rooms that were available at really low price points. Here are some of our finds.

Kuta

Grand Zuri Kuta, ₹ 1800 ++ per night and Pudak Sari Unizou Hostel, ₹ 860 ++ per night. Legit everything in Kuta is like a party place! If you really plan on going ham and party till you drop, this place is for you!

Seminyak

Ramada Encore, ₹ 1500++ per night and M Boutique Hostel, ₹ 596 ++ per night. Definitely the party central of Bali. If you really want to enjoy all the nightlife, well, you might want to consider spending a few days here.

Nusa Dua

House Of D16 ₹ 550++ per night and Rantun’s Place ₹ 600 ++ per night. Preferably, you’d want to do a day’s trip to the island and then head back to wherever. There’s a lot of activities to do but you might not find it super interesting to spend a night there.

Ubud

Indraprastha Home Stay ₹ 600 ++ per night and WW Backpackers ₹ 500 per night. From beautiful rice fields to amazing coffee plantations, this place is perfect for anyone who wants to just slow down. It’s also perfect to visit towards the end of your trip so that you can unwind and sightsee.

Total accommodation budget for 7 days: ₹ 5600 ++.

3. Food

The one thing the people of Bali absolutely love is their food! The authentic Balinese cuisine that is blended with various spices, veggies and meat, is something every foodie needs to have! Apart from that, anything you really want, you can find. From drool-worth breakfasts to quaint dinners, here are some places you have to check out.

Made’s Warung, Seminyak

This popular place is known for its delicious local food. If you’re lucky, you could also catch an amazing live band! A meal at this place will cost you about ₹ 800++.

Cafe Bali, Seminyak

This lovely place is something a lot of people absolutely love. You might also find yourself becoming a regular here! You’d roughly spend about ₹ 700++ for a really filling meal.

Mama San, Seminyak

While this place isn’t really considered a budget one, it’s still a place you should highly consider eating at this place. It’s got amazing pan Asian food and every penny you spend is totally worth it. You’d end up spending about ₹ 1500 ++ for a great meal.

Naught Nuris, Ubud

This place is really famous for its margaritas and also it’s ribs! It’s definitely a must-visit! You’d roughly spend about ₹ 700++ for a meal here.

Street Food

So the street stalls in Bali are called Warung Babi. If you’re working with a strict budget, we highly recommend you check these out. They’ve got some of the most delicious food you’ll ever eat! While the good restaurants are also priced pretty well, the real essence of the Balinese food is something you’ll taste in these stalls. Something at these stalls shouldn’t cost you more than ₹ 200 ++.

Total food budget for 7 days: ₹ 5000

4. Miscellaneous

Now that we’ve covered the three main things in your itinerary, we can get down to the fun part of it! Here’s a bunch of things you could do and also, how much they’re going to cost you.

Sightseeing & Other Activities

There are a lot of beautiful places to visit in Bali. Also, other activities like snorkelling, etc are also something you shouldn’t miss out on experiencing. While some of the underwater things might be slightly expensive, sightseeing is actually free. Well, unless you want to pay for a guide. Still, if you were to take something like snorkelling, you’d roughly end up spending about ₹ 6000.

Nightlife

Alright, so we’ve already told you that Kuta and Seminyak are the two places to be if you really want to experience the nightlife. If you’re planning on binge-drinking, expect to pay about ₹ 2500 a night. If you’re just casually chilling, expect to spend about ₹ 1000 a night.

Total budget for miscellaneous expenses: ₹ 10,000.

Total amount spent on the trip: ₹ 55,600 ++. This would vary on your preferences and expenses.
