Kareena Kapoor Khan has always been a trailblazer, be it in acting, her sense of style or her outspoken nature. She broke any sort of glass ceiling there was when she shot for her film Veere Di Wedding while she was pregnant with her son, Taimur Ali Khan.
And lo behold, the beauty enjoyed immense success with her come back which was, in fact, the first ever chick flick to do so well at the box office. Like any other working person, it’s only natural that she felt that it’s time that she deserved an appraisal and that’s exactly what she did. Kareena upped her remuneration post her last film.

Though Veere was a four-girl project, the film’s opening and initial footfalls can be credited to Kareena’s stardom. It is only fair that she capitalize on her star power, which is why she has increased her fee for the next few films. She apparently charged a ballpark figure of Rs.7 crore for Veere Di Wedding. Her upcoming films will have her quoting Rs 10 crore-plus, negotiable depending on the number of days she is required to work on the project and the value she is bringing to the table.
You go, girl! When our society still faces a huge gender wage gap at large, it’s great that they have a role model to look up to and they get to see someone who asks for what they deserve. That’s something great.
