2005’s crime-comedy Bunty Aur Babli continues to be one of my favourite films. There was something about it, that made an instant connection with the audience. To add to that were the honest performances of Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji and the songs. This Shaad Ali directorial was so good that the audience wouldn’t mind a sequel to it.
Reports about the film getting a sequel after 13 years have been doing rounds for a while now. Aditya Chopra is already working on it and the cast may reprise the roles. But when we got in touch with YRF for the same, the spokesperson said,
Bunty Aur Babli is one of Aditya Chopra’s favourite YRF film and he has always wanted to make a sequel to the much-loved movie. However, currently, there is no script or cast locked for the same.
While the script and cast aren’t finalized, I can be sure that the sequel will surely make headlines. If Abhishek and Rani are not roped in for the sequel, who do you think from the current lot can essay the role of Bunty and Babli as honestly as the main cast?
