The Kerala flood was the biggest national calamity India has seen this year in which close to 300 people lost their lives and many more were rendered homeless. Now that the rain has settled, there is just a lot to be done and this is only possible if everyone comes together. While Indians everywhere are coming together to help resurrect the state, celebrities are joining in to help too. Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sushant Singh Rajput and many others have come forward with monetary help for relief measures. Latest to join the list is Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. The couple is not just helping victims but also helping stranded and distraught animals in need.

According to reports in DNA, Both Virat and Anushka had got in touch with their teams immediately after the disaster had hit and pledged to support the victims in any way possible. They will also be supplying a truck full of food and medicines to help animals in crisis. The report also stated that they have teamed up with a local NGO and has even sent a team to help treat the animals in need.

Virat Kohli had also publicly lent his support to the flood victims in Kerala after Team India’s win against England in the third test match.

He said,

First and foremost, we as a team want to dedicate the victory to the flood victims back home in Kerala. People are going through a lot, and this is the least we can do.

In such tough times, it is amazing to see celebrities like Virat and Anushka set examples for others.
