Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree have been receiving some rave reviews and box office numbers that match up to it. If you haven’t watched it yet and need a couple of reasons as to why you should, click here. For all those who watched and was blown away just like I was, is in for some good news. Because the makers just confirmed that there will be a sequel to the movie and it will pick up from where the current movie left off!
The producer Dinesh Vijan just confirmed to DNA that the film will be a franchise.
The film’s last two shots actually set up the sequel. When you watch the movie, you will understand that we intentionally had an open ending. Stree 2 will start off from there and explain those shots. We have written it as a franchise, so there will be a sequel. We are happy that the confidence in the content has paid off.
He also revealed that part 2 would go focus on Shraddha’s character.
Along with Shraddha’s backstory, a few other pertinent questions will be answered in the second instalment. The cast will be retained, but there will be new inclusions too. Predominantly, it will still be driven by Raj and Shraddha’s characters.
Vijan hopes that they can go on floors with Stree 2 by the end of 2019 and within 2 years we will get to see the sequel of the movie.
I’m super excited that there is a sequel to Stree, especially since I had predicted and wished for it after the movie.
