Ranveer Singh manages to impress us every time he stars in a film. The actor has always won our hearts whenever he has essayed the lead role in his films and with a number of films in his kitty, the actor promises a great year ahead as well. But did you know that before the acting bug bit him, it was his grandmom who evoked love for the art in him? Ranveer recently graced a show Take 2 With Anupama And Rajeev on which the Padmaavat actor shared how his granny encouraged him to be a hero in Hindi films.

Ranveer said,

Dadi always wanted me to be an actor, she wanted dramatics, she wanted me to become some kind of performer. She used to say “just watch Amitabh Bachchan, tujhe inki tarah banna hain”  It takes my breath away to be in presence of senior actors you have seen growing up. Sometimes people can’t understand why I am so excitable but this is the reason. They are my idols, my heroes.

He further added,

I really thought these people were really cool. My dadi encouraged me to be a Hindi film hero and so that’s what I wanted to be. I was 6 watching Rambo and all these larger than life characters like Stallone, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan was the heartthrob that time. I was completely fascinated by Hindi film heroes and I wanted to be that and that is a desire I wanted as far as I can remember.

We are sure that the actor is and will continue making his granny proud!
