Every kid in the ’90s had such an amazing childhood, right? We didn’t have iPads, laptops to play apps on. Heck, we didn’t even have cell phones to keep in touch. We would call each other on the landlines in hopes of coordinating evening hangouts. We would play hide and seek, basketball, and many such games in our building backyards. And in our leisure time, we would read comics! If you’re a ’90s kid, you may have read the below comic books too! Here they are:

1. Tinkle Comics

Who didn’t like Tinkle? Everyone we knew in school was reading it. Suppandi, Shikari Shambhu and more, we loved them all!

2. The Adventures Of TinTin

One of the most read comics in school! We loved the different mysteries in every comic and of course, Captain Haddock and the cute but clever, Snowy!

3. Archie Comics

A light and fun read. Everyone’s favourite obviously was Archie, but we also loved Jughead, Betty and Veronica.

5. Marvel Comics

This Marvel fever didn’t fade and is our favourite even today. We love Iron Man, Spider-Man, Deadpool, Hulk, Captain America, we can go on and on!

6. DC Comics

Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman! We live for these characters to date. Don’t you agree?

7. The Adventures Of Asterix

My kids came back with these, daughter enevn more into reading all of the Astérix comics (proud of her since young people nowadays don’t read anymore) and my son with his foam hammer and a glowing in the dark sword. Then it hit me! How many time have I thought « if only I had a foam hammer, to gently hit my students every time they do and keep repeating the same mistakes » (cf Nicky Larson reference) and here it is. I know the teens at my previous school would have loooovvvvvvveeeeeedddd it, they knew how into accessorizing for my class I was. Well, there it is, wouldn’t it be fun? ??? kidding of course. But I could definitely think of a course about it since there are Astérix comics in English. Maybe with Astérix and the Britons and working on stereotypes and clichés. I’ll think of it… work in progress! #asterix #asterixcomics #instateacher #englishlearning #teacherfun #teachersfollowteachers #iteachtoo #profdanglais #esl #englishteacher #englishclass #classroomtheme #classroomdecor #teacherlife #teacherfun #teachercrazyideas

These were our go-to for a fun read after school. We loved Obelix, Asterix, Getafix and others!

Just for kicks, bring home these comics and give it a read. We bet they’d bring back childhood memories! Which comic was your favourite?
