When it’s time to go desi, the celeb whose style we always refer to is, Aditi Rao Hydari. She is always on point with her traditional looks and we know for a fact that her outfits are incomplete without a pair of jhumka earrings. But you wouldn’t expect her wearing them with a red carpet dress, would you? Well, Aditi just showed us all how it’s done, like a pro.
For the SIIMA Awards 2018, celebrity stylist Sanam Ratansi from team Style Cell picked a gorgeous black dress designed by Rahul Mishra. The off-shoulder dress with a thigh-high slit was surely a modern silhouette fit for a red carpet entry, but the delicate embroidery work on it was traditional. This blend of contemporary and indigenous elements made it an outstanding ensemble. That’s exactly why it paired so well with the jhumka earrings. It wasn’t just the jhumkas, but even the statement rings had some ethnic element to them. Both the jhumkas and the rings were designed by Sangeeta Boochra. The strappy black heels complemented the overall modern shape of the dress.
We feel it’s only Aditi Rao Hydari who can pull off this look so effortlessly. But she is definitely giving us some ideas for our next contemporary look and jhumkas are going to be a major part of it.
