It was a week ago that Anurag Kashyap‘s film, Manmarziyaan hit the theatres. The film’s cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in titular roles and is based on the concept of complicated relationships in the present times. The actors have been receiving praises for their performance even though the film has only received a mild reaction.
Abhishek’s fans are excited to see him return to movies after taking a break for two years and Vicky has once again won over the fans and audience for doing such a different character. The leading lady Taapsee’s fans have also been praising the actress. However, the film faced a backlash after its release as there are people who are hurt by the portrayal of the lead characters in the film. It was just a few days ago that three scenes from the movie were deleted since they hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. While Abhishek had no problem with the edits, Anurag and Taapsee sent out some tweets to express their displeasure about the decision. Following which the actress received a lot of flak and one of the trolls threatened to hit her with a belt too.
One of the tweets read, “I swear I wish I was her father, all I need is my belt and a jutti. Shittar mar mar ke I would of taken the actress vala bhoot out from her.”
Unfazed by the threat Taapsee tweeted:
I already feel bad for your kids. God give them strength to live. https://t.co/jbGmqZisOu

Vicky also reacted to the tweet and said:
Dharam da maan rakhna jaande ho, apni thee da nahi. Phaaji bohot maan rakh laya apne Guruaan da ehe gal karke 🙏 https://t.co/Bv4B1PtTdG

Besides the two leads, actor, Arjun Kapoor also took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the same.
No religion allows violence. Nothing in this world justifies what this man has said. The more I read this the more it fuels anger towards this crass thought process. Who gives any man the authority to raise their hand on someone and make them decide what they should do or not do. https://t.co/o8XQJWPWsh
