Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi has been in news for a while now. The project was announced last year and ever since then, I was eagerly waiting to watch the film. Yesterday, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the makers dropped the teaser of the film and it was quite impressive. Featuring Kangana Ranaut essaying the titular role, the teaser literally blew my mind away and I couldn’t contain my excitement to watch the film.
It’s only been 24 hours since the teaser was released and it has already managed to garner 12 million views. When I got in touch with Kangana, she exclusively revealed that she was happy that the teaser has struck the right chord.
Kangana said,
I wasn’t nervous, I was just excited. I kept calling my mom and sister Rangoli and told them, “You aren’t ready for it!” They giggled and thought I was joking but when they finally saw it, both of them were crying. I kind of knew that it will hit the right cord. Rani LaxmiBai is one of the most loved people and her story is special. People already love her so actually there was very little to be done to get them involved in her story.
The Queen actress further added that while there is pressure, she is gearing up for it.
I will give credit to my studio. After my two major flop,s they okayed the biggest budget female centric film to be made. There is a pressure. We are still filming and there is a lot to do in terms of post-production but I like missions and this seems like one.
