Out of all the festivals in the year, Diwali is definitely one of my favourites! From the general festive cheer in the air to the twinkling lights, every aspect of this festival makes me happy. I also really look forward to dressing up in traditional clothing, so I’m always keeping an eye out for hairstyles that I can wear with them. Here are 7 celebrity-inspired ‘dos that I’ve saved to try out this season.

1. Sonam Kapoor’s Cuffed Bun

Buns are one of the simplest, yet most elegant hairstyles out there. Instead of opting for a straightforward, sleek one however, why don’t you prop on an accessory like Sonam? Cuffs like these elevate any type of bun and make for a great conversation starter!

2. Kriti Sanon’s Fishtail Braid

Ladies with long hair can go for Kriti’s fishtail braid. Whether paired with a sari or a salwar kameez, this type of plait plays well with all kinds of looks. If you are worried about this hairstyle being too school girl, keep the front soft like Kriti has.

3. Deepika Padukone’s Ponytail Chignon

I’m absolutely in love with this chic hairstyle! Not only is this ponytail-bun hybrid super easy to imitate, but it also gives a modern twist when paired with any type of outfit. To get the same sleek finish like Deepika, smoothen a few drops of serum to flatten any frizz and baby hairs.

4. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Mega Waves

If you opt for Kareena’s bombshell waves this Diwali, you could definitely be the most glamorous girl in the room! Spritz on a bit of texturising spray to get defined, piecey waves like hers.

5. Anushka Sharma’s Loose Bun

With its face-framing, wispy tendrils and centre part, Anushka’s bun is the epitome of casual sophistication. Plus, it’s the perfect hairstyle to wear if you want to show off a stunning pair of earrings!

6. Janhvi Kapoor’s Tiny Plaits

If you don’t have too much time to fuss with your mane, try out this ‘do. The teensy plaits will add an element of interest to your loose locks and will give off a boho vibe.

7. Shilpa Shetty’s Textured Ponytail

Shilpa really knows how to amp up a basic ponytail! If you do choose to wear this hairstyle, remember to tease the crown so that you get that extra oomph and volume. For those of you who want to go the extra mile, use a curling wand on the ends of your ponytail to get those relaxed waves.

Which of these hairstyles are you planning to try out this Diwali? Let me know in the comments below.
