Taft point at the Yosemite cliff in California has been the hotspot for selfies, professional photography, and romantic proposals. Travel enthusiasts and explorers climb to the top of the cliff to truly live life at the edge. One such self-identified, adrenaline junky couple hiked to the Taft point a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, they fell off the cliff to death while taking a picture.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE FEMINISM❓In the light of #internationalwomensday2018, I would love to know what are the thoughts which run amok in your head when you hear the word “feminism”? 💭🤔 … Gender equality and breaking stereotypes based on patriarchy is something I revisit in my #pinkpositivelight from time to time(Oh, hello there, Wonder Woman and Fearless Girl!🙋‍♀️)The fact that there are STILL a few people out there who judge and cringe at the word “feminism” and also those who “casually” remark how feminists do everything for “attention” makes me wanna throw up y’all! 🤢 So TODAY for #IWD2018, I am embarking on a project, a project to create an awareness that being a feminist DOES NOT mean you must mandatorily ▪️burn bras ▫️hate men ▪️post pics of menstrual blood ▫️have hairy hands etc. etc. All these are individual choices and whether you want to do it or not has got no compulsory connection with feminism, at least for me and a few feminist friends of mine which includes Vishnu too🤗 … Vishnu and I, we define feminism as 〰️ 🔻Looking out for fellow “Badass Belles” all over the world,to make sure their choices and voices are accepted and respected reasonably. 〰️ 🔻To question patriarchal perceptions and create a brand-new society which follows rules of happiness and equality, rather than stereotypes and conventions. The age-old quandary, “How can I harmonize family life and career❓” should be confronted by men and women EQUALLY. 〰️ 🔻To raise daughters and sons the same way, so that they can stand up for what they believe in and embrace their individuality. Less “wish upon a star” and more “build the foundation” for their dreams🤘 〰️〰️〰️ Aaaand if you want a punch line, here you go✨ 👊Feminism for us is giving women the wings 🦋 to dream and dare to achieve what humans with a pe**s can do. … There, I said it!🤭Let us show the world that none of us is these bra burning, men hating stereotypes(hey we LOVE men and some of us ARE men, you know🙄) If you are a human,it would be fantastic🤩if you could tell us what feminism means to you!(Aliens are welcome too!👽😉) Now, where all my badass tribe at?😎 … #theweekoninstagram #pressforprogress #gurlstalk

The married couple was identified as Vishnu Viswanath and Meenakshi Moorthy, who had been successfully running a travel blog and Instagram page called holidaysandhappilyeveryafters, which currently has more than 22,000 followers! They journeyed to a lot of destinations and have put up beautiful pictures and posts about the same.

Another couple named Sean Matteson and Drea Rose were present there and captured a picture of Moorthy minutes before the incident happened. He expressed how she stood out from the crowd with her pink hair which made him notice how close she stood to the edge. He said,

She gave me the willies. There aren’t any railings. I was not about to get that close to the edge. But she seemed comfortable. She didn’t seem like she was in distress or anything.

CHASING SUNSETS or CHASING LIKES ??? 😛 … Sooo today on #socialmediabadasstribe we are talking about limits of #doitforthegram.😶Yeah sure it can be limitless but guys, we reaaaallly need to have boundaries(this is handy as life lessons too but we will revisit that later😉) A lot of us including yours truly is a fan of daredevilry attempts of standing at the edge of cliffs ⛰and skyscrapers🌆, but did you know that wind gusts can be FATAL??? ☠️ Is our life just worth one photo? … When we squirm at another selfie attempt gone south 😱 from a skyscraper, let’s remember to save that in our core memory 🧠 and not the memory dump 🛢(I am still on the Inside Out 🎬 train y'all 😬) Same applies when we get our knickers in a twist and hog a spot till we get the perfect shot🙄 I know I know, I am guilty as charged for all of this 🤦‍♀️ and if I didn’t have Mr. Two Goody Shoes, Vishnu 🤭 with me, I am not even sure if I would have written this post. … Let us all try to be responsible digital citizens and use our “numbers” to be transparent and honest, shall we?🤗 None of us is perfect and the more we accept it and share our flaws as much as our wins, we are one step closer to creating a sane social media without the scary brouhahas.💕✨ … Still there?👀 Woohoo, a backflip is in order, or wait maybe a pizza? 🍕 What about a unicorn ice-cream 🦄 🍦 with some Disney-approved cotton candy 🍭🍬 and pixie dust infused sprinkles 🧚‍♀️ if…..IF you could tell me the one time you were effin’ proud of being candid and real AF in social media? 😎 … PS – Not sponsored but sweatshirt is from @radearthsupply • • • #grandcanyonnps #northrim #instagramaz #visitarizona #travelarizona #shotzdelight #discovertheroad #usaroadtrip #visittheusa #outdoorsusa #exploretheusa #womenwhoexplore #iamtb #radparks #thediscoverer #gtgi #sheisnotlost #wearetravelgirls #hikemore #radgirlslife #travelreality #dreamscape @womenwhoexplore @visit_arizona @visittheusa @shotzdelight

Though Moorthy and Viswanath were always aware and careful about their surroundings and how things could end up with one wrong step, they met with this unfortunate incident costing their lives. MyYosemitePark.com, a travel website urges people against clicking selfies or posing at Yosemite on top of the cliffs. The site says,

It would only take a loose rock or bad footing to plummet.

Events like these are unfortunate and unexpected. It is better to live the moment and capture it in your heart than take extreme steps and click a picture just for the sake. A reminder for all you people, you are important and so is your life to many others. Be aware of your surroundings and stay safe!
