According to reports, Kartik Aaryan who was shooting for Luka Chuppi with Kriti Sanon until recently was also roped in by Imtiaz Ali for his next. While Kartik was finalised for the script which was another unique love story with a ‘travelogue’ vibe, the director was yet to choose his leading lady. Imtiaz was looking for a newer actress from the current lot and he has finally found her according to reports in the leading daily, DNA.
A source close to the film revealed,
It’s another unique love story, which will invariably have a slight travelogue flavour, like all Imtiaz films. He wanted a new actress opposite Kartik. He had seen a few rushes of Kedarnath and felt Sara has a great screen presence and is good at delivering dialogues. He approached her with the script and the newbie liked the idea.
Imtiaz is one to take a leap when he chooses his actors, remember how Alia Bhatt was offered Highway even before Student Of The Year came out? What’s also interesting is that Sara has bagged her third film even before her first film has released. But if the teaser of Kedarnath is any proof, she is one actress to watch out for!

They sat for narrations. Now, the star daughter, who has a strong role in the romantic drama, has finally given her nod. The modalities are being worked out. She will start the film next year after both her movies — Kedarnath and Simmba — release next month.
According to the reports in DNA, Sara seems excited to be approached by Imtiaz for his film and it’s not just her. Sara’s dad, Saif Ali Khan has also worked with the director in the past and he was quite happy to learn about this project.

When Saif got to know that the filmmaker has offered Sara a movie, he was happy. He doesn’t make professional decisions for his daughter, but he feels the writer-director will tap into her potential. Sara’s mom, Amrita Singh, loved the story when she heard it.
